Pomegranate: Vegan Gluten-Free Dessert Shop Opens in Los Angeles!

An all-vegan, gluten-free dessert shop based in Los Angeles, CA, USA called Pomegranate has just opened! As of now, they are offering cookies, cakes, and other goodies online, but we understand that they will also be opening a brick-and-mortar vegan dessert restaurant somewhere in the Los Angeles area soon. WHOA!

These gluten-free vegan cookies are delicious! Thankfully neither Ryan or I have Celiac's Disease or any kind of gluten allergy/intolerance. So, we do not seek actively seek out gluten-free treats. I've actually tried baking gluten-free myself, and have found it very difficult to get baked goods to come out right. But there's some kind of magic going on at Pomegranate, as these cookies are absolutely delightful! I think it's safe to say that anyone would enjoy these treats. The texture is delicately crispy and they are flavorful and not overly sweet. They are all so good it's hard to choose a favorite, but the Matcha Green Tea, Sesame, and Pumpkin have the slight edge with me.

Here are just a few of the other items that are currently available (whole cakes/tarts/pies available for pick-up, images below via PomegranateLA.com)...check out their website for even more gorgeous photos!

Pomegranate has arrangement with (the amazing!) Shojin Organic & Natural restaurant, and orders can be picked up at one of Shojin's two locations: downtown Los Angeles (333 S. Alameda; 3rd Floor of the Little Tokyo Shopping Center on Alameda between 3rd & 4th Streets) , and Culver City (12406 Washington Blvd at Centinela Ave). Some items may be available for shipping...please check their website and contact them for more information.

As for me, I'll be munching on the cookies that are left, and planning my next order. And I'll be keeping my eyes and ears open so I know as soon as Pomegranante Dessert Restaurant opens for business. I'll be waiting with a fork in one hand and a spoon in the other, just so I'm fully prepared for whatever they have to offer. I can hardly wait! :)

Thanks for reading. Peace and love to all who live.
